The truth about working in the IT industry:

1. We work weird shifts...... ...... Just like prostitutes.

2. They pay you to make the client happy....... ....... Just like a
prostitute.

3. The client pays a lot of money, but your employer keeps almost every
penny....... .... Just like a prostitute.

4. You are rewarded for fulfilling the client's dreams...... .. Just like a
prostitute.

5. Your friends fall apart and you end up hanging out with people in the
same profession as you........ Just like a prostitute.

6.
So this past weekend, I finally got a xbox 360. for myself it definately was worth it. I started my 360 collection of games with elder scrolls iv. definately a good game. I will no doubt lose many hours to it. but the new game that I got last night will unfortunately already surplant that game as a major killer of my time. the game is gears of war. for those of you who know my love for the HALO gaming series, I think this game while hold just as much love for me as HALO. last night both me and case picked up a copy of the game. we met online and started playing a co-op game. the graphics are phenominal as is the game play. if i wrote everything about this game (good and about 1%, if that, bad) i'd have aot of typing ahead of me. but me and case put in a good, fun 4 hours before calling it a night. this game before release got alot of hype and after the release has definately lived up to it. if you are thinking about getting a 360. this game is definately on the must have list. this game also makes a great LAN party game. just like the HALO LAN parties were.

Friday night I ended up going over to house(he's a beer rep and always has plenty of good beer. no fizzy yellow piss) of someone that i run with to drink lots and lots of good beer. 1554 was on tap and he had a cooler(the stand up ones that are in bars) full of beer.

Saturday i ended up going to the running group's saturday's run. if you wonder why i go running with them you find me another place where you can pay $5 and drink all you can drink. granted its crappy beer but its beer for $5. after that i ended up going to a korean bbq and went to see the prestige with a friend. the movie was good, worth seeing.

sunday....sunday never happened. i'm still waiting for the steelers to play.

Its a wonderful trip

The trip back home as usual was great. its always great to be back there and see all of you. Sorry to those about not going out on sunday night. i thought my parents would get a kick out of having me home for a night. if i wasnt sleeping i was out with you hooligans.
the trip back down here sucked and when i say sucked i mean sucked balls. my plane was suppose to to leave at 3:14. so i get there 2 hrs before hand just incase the airport "security" decides to actually do their job and it leads to delays. the plane that i was suppose to take pulls up to the gate on time and they start boarding us. half way though the boarding process they tell us to please deplane because there is a mechanical problem and they dont know when the mechanics will be able to fix it. so we deplane, and they start rebooking us on diffent flights. think waiting at the dmv and you'll have thats how long it took to rebook. I get booked on an american airlines flight, which is only a couple gates down. i got time to kill, so i get some dinner. i come back and wait. all of a sudden i look up and the time of the flight has changed to a later time. great delayed again. finally the plane arrives and we board. two hours into the flight, the "captain" comes on and announces that due to a headwind that we are going to be delayed a half hour. hey im hip to that, i've already been delayed twice now, why not three times. get on the ground, go to baggage claim, everyone gets their bag except me. figures. so i go over to the baggage claim person and try to find out where my bag went(i swear to you, i was polite to her.)she tells me that she has no record of northwest airlines ever transfering the bags over to american airlines. she proceeds to run a trace on my bags. nada. but she says that she'll call over to the nwa gates to see if they have it over there. she proceeds to tell me that they normally dont answer over there. i'm thinking i've been screwed enough today and they'll pick up the phone. dumbass on me, no answer. so i proceed to go over to the nwa gates and see if they have it there. i finally get on a shuttle to get over to that concourse. on the way over there i've made peace with the fact that my baggage will probably get to see more of the world than i ever will. i get over to the nwa baggage claim area and go to the person running it, what do my little eyes spot...thats right... my bag. from that point i figure all problems have gone away. oh hell no. i go outside and wait for a shuttle to take me to my lot where my car is. i end up standing around for a good chunk of change. fine... i'm on the shuttle. hand the guy my ticket to drop me off at my car. he takes me to the wrong spot. turns out the person who picked me up wrote down the wrong spot and we ended up driving around trying to find it. good thing i remembered the area i was parked at or we'd probably still be driving around looking for it. did get back to the apt till around 12. like the title says....its a wonderful trip.
